Rebecca Wave

Hi! Thanks for stopping by!
You can listen to my songs, read the lyrics and look at some photos and concert clips, find out where I'm performing or order some albums by credit card, check or money order.

HERE'S MY NEW "MYSPACE" PAGE!

If you haven't yet listened to my newest cd, "Animalangel", I encourage you to do so.

Please let us allow peace to flourish in thought, word and deed. If we don't pay attention now, we will be forced to later.

"What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?"

--Elvis Costello

Whee! I'm playing the ukulele and learning Hawaiian songs! My new therapy...I'll probably be doing a few numbers on my next cd. In June 2005 my father died, after a two-year struggle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Neither "Western" medicine nor alternative healing methods could halt the gradual, then rapid loss of lung capacity and mental acuity. For a little more information on my extraordinary and beloved Dad, see http://www.henrypkramer.com. Steve and I are living with my Mom now (since May '05). We are still carrying on our online businesses: http://www.sevensouth.com and http://www.progressivebumperstickers.com and I'm still teaching my music therapy classes in Santa Barbara retirement and convalescent homes through Adult Education. Mostly I'm learning to get re-acquainted with my joy, recognizing it in all it's disguises! That damned, elusive Pimpernel....

I realize that many people may not be aware that I have sung at numerous weddings and memorial services, as well as in clubs, concerts, parties and festivals. If you're planning a ceremony, I will be happy to work with you to provide the music that will be most meaningful to all concerned.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the places where I'll be singing as this year flows into the next, paying little attention to our human calendars and clocks. You'll find the wheres and whens on the "Performances" page, along with details of my Adult Education classes (through Santa Barbara City College).

The Seven South Record Shop which Steve (Powell, my husband) and I started in 1997, is no longer. More than 150 artists were represented on the site, many with multiple recordings (more than 220 as of 5/3/04) and we shipped their cd's all over the world, but after having provided an online presence for independent local artists in a (relative) vacuum, we realized this year that many other websites are now performing that function far better than we, and Steve and I have moved on to other tasks. You can still navigate the website but there is no working shopping cart.

If you'd like to be on our mailing list, just submit your address at the link to the left. Believe me, you will not be spammed--I can barely keep up with updating my website!

Don't worry, be happy and keep in touch!
